This FAQ page is designed to answer some of the common questions you may have about our recent customer portal migration, which began on November 8th, 2019 and is expected to complete on November 13th, 2019.
Question: Will my price change?
Answer: No, existing customers will remain on their legacy hosting plan. We believe that the majority of our customers will actually save money on our new hosting plans, and we would encourage you to contact us if you would like to upgrade to our new pricing.
Question: Why was my password reset? Did you have a data breach?
Answer: No, we did not experience a data breach. We store customer passwords in a secure, encrypted format. Because they are not human readable, we cannot transfer your existing passwords to our new customer portal. As a result, all client passwords are being reset so that you can login and access the system.
Question: How do I get my free SSL certificate?
Answer: All existing hosting accounts will have an SSL certificate automatically applied to their primary domain name starting on November 5th, 2019. We suggest switching your internal links to use https after this date so that you can fully enjoy your enhanced security.
Question: Why do I need to manually pay my bill? I was using autopay.
Answer: Just as above with regard to passwords, your billing information is stored in an encrypted format. We are unable to transfer this information to our new system, so it will need to be added on your first invoice under the new customer portal. After that, you can enroll in automatic payments again.
Question: Why did you change your pricing?
Answer: We have written a full blog post about the change.
Question: How much will it cost to host my website?
Answer: Our pricing will vary based on your actual usage. However, a standard WordPress site, using 1GB of storage and getting 10GB/Month of traffic, will cost roughly $2.00/Month for hosting. Smaller niche websites and hobbyist pages will cost even less. High traffic websites or websites which use a lot of storage will incur additional costs, which accurately reflects the cost for us to provide our service.
Question: Are your prices introductory?
Answer: No, we believe that our pricing model should be as transparent as possible. These are month-to-month prices that do not require an annual commitment, and will not go up after your first renewal. While other companies raise their prices 30-50% each time you renew, we believe in giving you the same great rate time and time again.
