As we mentioned in our blog post rolling out our new website, a lot has changed in the last 10 years. The one-size-fits-all pricing model does not make sense for the vast majority of our customers (85% of them, in our calculations, would save money with our new plans).
Likewise, customers have grown tired of the bait-and-switch pricing of our competitors, where price increases of 30-50% yearly are not uncommon, or limited time “first month” discounts are advertised, only to raise prices at renewal.
That’s why we’re launching our Pay-As-You-Grow pricing model. You pay for what you use, and the rate never changes unless your use changes. Our plans scale up and scale down with your website.
Each customer will start with a “Core Account” of $1.00/Month. This base charge covers the overhead required for each hosting account, such as software license costs, credit card fees, and providing customer service.
We’re including a lot of new features in this new pricing model. Free SSL certificates are now included for every website, something most other webhosts charge $10/year or more for (with massive markups and profit margins). We’re also rolling out SiteLock Lite to all customers as a FREE value-added addon service. And thanks to a new partnership with CodeGuard, our users have access to automatic website backups at half the price of our previous program.
We think that our new pricing model will deliver what our customers expect from us: transparency in pricing, and a solution that scales with them. We’re successful only when our users are successful, and we hope to deliver on that promise with our new pricing plans.
